Sathya Sai Baba 83’rd birthday festival

Sathya Sai Baba’s ashtram has recently been visited by an ex-devotee, who has reported on the situation there. Visitors cannot expect much this time.

Last year's birthday

It has been a VERY low key affair in recent times, even with too few enough people to fill the Kulwant Hall. No really big crowds have been accumulating as in the past, (apart for the mad rush to Sai Baba’s promised – but failed – “moon darsan” at the airport, which was ‘hidden’ by unpredicted clouds  (See the hilarious event as reported by Indian web sites – and as summarised here)

However, I can predict with some accuracy the following: 1) the crown will be overwhelmingly Indian 2) Sai Baba will NOT perform an abishek miracle with water on his hip to enable him to walk freely to ‘serve’ his devotees – he will need constant support from students to struggle a few years 3) There will be fewer foreigners by far than in previous years – the Internet has warned them about all that goes on there, and – more importantly – of many of Sathya Sai Baba’s proven bogus claims and promises, fraudulent prestidigitation on a large scale plus many other ‘unmentionable’ traits!
