A look at some aspects of the avatar of the age

A Man of Miracles who also faked?
Claiming to be above and beyond the laws of science, as Creator of the Universe, Sai Baba was famed as a miracle worker, but he was also caught faking miracles many times by many people, also on film (eg: on the BBC’s ‘Secret Swami’ and other videos). There are numerous other Indian gurus who claim to do the same miracles, copyists of Sai Baba.

Sathya Sai Baba Unresolved Murders
Much has been written about the murders in Sathya Sai Baba’s apartments on June 6, 1993. Two of Sathya Sai Baba’s attendants, his valet Radhakrishnan and a young male servitor, were killed by five intruders in a knife struggle. Four of the intruders (armed with knives) were locked into Sai Baba’s bedroom apartment for hours and – after the long stand-off – were subsequently executed by a hail of bullets from the Puttaparthi police. Since there has been no court case whatever, many questions remain. Only a few eye-witnesses have dared to speak out, and their testimony is damning. All Sai Baba’s family members resident in Puttaparthi knew full well that Sai Baba had ordered the police to execute the intruders.

‘Miracle cures’ by Sai Baba?
Despite many reports of ‘miracle cures’ by Sai Baba, and of the same by thousands of other alleging ‘healers’, none have ever been recognised as genuine by independent specialists or top medical science in any developed country. This does not prove that suchindicates that cannot ever occur, but that where they were not mere inventions to make propaganda and profits their real causes may be promarily psychological.

‘Spiritual’ Sex Abuse
Sexually-repressive religions always breed abusers. The Catholic Church has begun to face up to the fact and is paying vast sums in compensation to victims, after many years of victims’ struggle and being castigated for speaking up. The same tactics of cover-up have alwats been used by the Sathya Sai Organization and his deluded and supporters similarly revile those who have spoken out against their imagined God Avatar. However, the day of reckoning was eventually sure to come, and it did 10 years before he had reckoned when in April 2011 he died of massive weight loss and multiple organ failure consistent with AIDS!

Sai Baba Libel
Sai Baba adopted attitudes of masterly superiority towards everyone at some stage during their relationship – and he belittled all around him, including most visitors to interviews, with jibes and put-downs. He put down other swamis and alleging masters – if not in public, in interviews (which have been reported by many devotees, mostly ‘on the grapevine’). Anyone who was not convinced he was THE divine entity of all the ages would have seen he suffered from vast ego inflation and he was never overburdened with the truth (though his discourses were weightd down propaganda about truth and selflessness!).

Sai Baba lies
To defeat what one says within one and the same sentence, paragraph or discourse is one of Sathya Sai Baba’s fortés. These bear the signs of a split personality (half man – and somehow half something else!) Some of his worst untruths are character smudges saved up for anyone who has the temerity criticise him – demons, Judases, and paid libelers are among his grosser lies. He attacked his critics in 2000 on Xmas day as taking money to make allegations against him. This is a direct falsehood and he produced no iota of evidence, of course, as he failed to do concerning all documented criticism against him, instead repeating that critics are ‘jealous’ of him, when in truth they are disgusted by him, his lies and his total break of faith with followers. Indeed, who would want to be a pedophile, sexual abuser, murder accomplice and a proven liar?

Sai Baba on the moon?
Sathya Sai Baba had announced that he would be appearing on the face of the moon later one evening, and thousands gathered. But it was clouded over! In earlier years, various biographers of Sathya Sai Baba claim that he caused the moon to disappear from the heavens (temporarily), and brought part of the moon down to earth as a minature model of it. He never denounced these claims as false, of course! Yet he was visited and revered in public by Presidents, Premiers and many like them. That they could go on visiting him after that was incomprehensible… though they were already too compromised by having worshipped him in public for years so dared not lose all face by backtracking. Instead tyhey mounted a massive cover-up campaign to white-wash him as a divine being.

Sai on World Catastrophe
Sai Baba was reported numerous times as having made predictions of a world catastrophe, especially in the privacy of interviews and the classroom from which he must know it would leak out. He also supposedly ‘manifested’ globes and maps in interviews for persons I have met allegedly showing the earth after massive world changes on a continental level. A ploy to bind people in fear to Sai Baba and his ashram, which was rumoured would be unaffected. Early on Sai Baba prophesied that he would have to lift a mountain range!

Sai Baba pleaded ‘poverty’ while riding his own gravy train
Feigning to be a spiritual renunciant who wanted nothing for himself and cared not for name or fame, Sai Baba nevertheless stretched out both hands in private for any donations he could obtain, using much of it on wasteful luxuries, self-glorifying projects and massive self-publicity shows.

At Sathya Sai ashrams – Seekers of healing, boons, and miracles
Many suffering and sick people went to Sathya Sai Baba due to the many stories they had heard about his miracles and incredible healings. Out of the supposed millions who have been through the ashrams during 60 years, remarkable few claim healing of any major kind, while of course genuine medical documentation is sparse and never proves the case. This was no hindrance to the many who wanted to gain boons or obtain the gift of becoming a healer themselves… some have more than one screw loose.

At Sathya Sai ashrams
Each year, thousands of foreigners once visited Sai Baba’s ashrams, having been indoctrinated by a mass of totally uncritical propaganda from books, public meetings, videos and on the internet. Relative to that, there were few uncensored accounts which told things as they were, facts that were mostly kept tightly secret because they did not fit the desired standard of cover-up.

Sathya Sai ashrams – dangers involved
Sathya Sai Baba directed all events within his ashram. He uses flattery, and – when a person is hooked – he manipulated them further very cleverly. There were many dangers in and around the ashram about which no one was ever informed, The tightest security controlled all visitors to the ashram, secret surveillance and complete censorship of anything untoward was rigorously observed on pain of being ejected and banned. (for example, a most violent incident occurred when Shoko Asahara’s men tried to muscle in on the ashram).

Sai Baba’s ‘billion’ devotees
Two Puttaparthi devotees have made blogs in which they claim that Sathya Sai Baba has ‘a billion’ devotees! This is typical of the rampant irrationality which ruled many followers, especially since the facts of Sai Baba’s many deceptions became so widely known on the Internet. But considering what became of him the claims are necessarily far, far less vast nowadays!

Quintessence guru Swami Ambikananda – promoter of Sathya Sai Baba

Click here to go to my account of Swami Ambikananda from Mauritius, who I knew well in the 1970s as a member of his Quintessence ashram. . It exemplifies the quandaries involved in following almost any Indian guru. Though Ambikananda taught many of the same precepts that Shirdi Baba, Sathya Sai Baba and their forerunner Ramakrishna Paramahamsa did, he never tried to build up a large following or a money cult, nor was he guilty of the abuse of his follower’s faith or persons through illegal acts.

Sathya Sai Baba deceits and breaks of trust

Sathya Sai Baba bragged endlessly about himself and his work

Sathya Sai Baba made constant publicity about himself and inflated the results of ‘his’ social and service projects (really all borne by others), claiming he freely gave the means for these, while always insisting he has no money and no property! But then he signed cheques galore, he admitted.

Sai Baba was a slanderer

Sathya Sai Baba often spoke ill of others and his chosen leaders copied his example and slanders. More documented study on how Sathya Sai Baba practices other than he preaches and manipulates his devotees to blindfold themselves.

Sai Baba Layers of Deceit
Sai Baba said to his chosen ‘official’ biographer Professor N- Kasturi, people would just think that it was all a story got up by two rogues. Since then the amount of evidence of deceit, false information, zealously exaggerated and falsified eulogy plus much more that cast Sai Baba as a rogue indeed have emerged from hundreds of sources.
Sai Guru King?
Sathya Sai Baba told various of his servitors of meetings he claimed he had with famous Indian spiritual figures: Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo, Jiddu Krishnamurthi and more. He boasted that he instructed them all on the correct way to behave! After all, he said he was the deity of all deities. Who can believe it? Will the world bow down, laugh or just shrug? The answer is clearly ‘no’ to anyone who follows world opinion.
Sai Wheelers & Dealers – More of Sathya Sai Baba’s freaks and frauds
In any crowd sitting at the feet of Sai Baba there were always a wide variety of opinion and behaviour, good, bad and indifferent. Well-known to seasoned visitors were those too richly endowed with egoism and insensitivity to others. Top flight modern Indian intellectuals were virtually never met there, though many flaunted letters after their names and titles, they were the mediocre with very few exceptions. Sai Baba saw the world in black and white terms with frequent ignorance of the colours. Peculiar situations arose due to the spiritual arrogance one found was seldom far below the surface. When it broke out in full, there sometimes was an amusing debacle.

Sathya Sai Baba and his throne: Credibility stretched beyond all possible limits: In 1993 Sai Baba (reportedly) draws a door on a wall and an Australian goes through it and disappears back to old Oz! Can you credit it? Also an entertaining imposter, the ‘teeth-clacking medium’ – too weird for words, but this will have you clacking your teeth – laughing!

Sai Baba Child Abuse
Sai Baba expressed intense rage, as witnessed by his devotee, Smt. Vijayamma Kumari, whose baby boy of only three years of age was beaten relentlessly, long and hard, many times by Sathya Sai Baba. A Swedish psychologist regards this as a consequence of Sai Baba’s intense narcissism.
